Baseline
Testing
Baseline testing is the perfect place to start if you want an idea of your overall fitness. Ideal for your average gym goer, weekend warrior, those with healthy ageing goals or just generally interested in knowing where you stand from a fitness perspective!

How does it work?

The first part of the testing is a movement screen which is used to identify movement mechanics, muscular imbalances and range of motion. Very important information to analyse in order to minimise injury risk.

We then go into components of fitness. This includes strength, power, agility, aerobic and anaerobic endurance, flexibility, balance and reaction time.

If you lift weights or are thinking about doing so we have an optional extra of 3RM testing ($50 to upgrade). Under the supervision of an experienced strength coach, you will perform the 3 big lifts (squat, deadlift and bench press) and find out the maximum amount of weight you can lift for 3 repetitions. This data can be used to identify the ideal weight you should be lifting depending on your resistance training goals, whether that be to build muscle mass (hypertrophy), strength or endurance.

If you are a more experienced lifter you have the option to upgrade to power testing. We take your three main lifts (squat, deadlift and bench press) and find out the optimal weight you should be lifting in order to maximise power output. This is done using laser and bar tracking technology. This data will help you to train smarter and become more explosive. Perfect for power lifters or team sport athletes.

What information do I receive following the test?

After the test you will receive a comprehensive report which includes all your testing measures. Each test is compared to normative data for your age group and you are given a score accordingly. The sum of all your individual test scores = your overall fitness score.

The report will clearly highlight areas of strength and weakness. Based off this knowledge we will give you some recommendations on what areas you should focus on in order to maximise your performance.

If you would like further guidance, you can sign up for strength and conditioning coaching. You will work with coach Brendan to systematically build up your weak areas, feeling fitter and stronger than you've ever been!
